Our Vision

Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

1 Corinthians 3:7 “Neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.”

With those verses in mind, we humbly suggest that we feel called to do the following:

Everyday Church as well as Sunday Church

We aim to:

  • Transition so that the time, effort and money going into what happens on Sunday mornings is also reflected in the time, effort and money going into what God is doing through our Life Groups during the week.
  • Make our Life Groups the primary place where mission is dreamt up, encouraged, planned and executed. We want every Life Group building relationships with people disconnected from God; showing God’s compassion in and blessing their local communities; and doing things that demonstrate the difference knowing God has made to the way they live their lives together.
  • Give our Life Groups permission to grow, experiment, develop their own identities, take risks and if necessary to fail, within the limits of our values, whilst they commit to come together on Sunday mornings to worship together, share stories, pray, and receive bible teaching.
  • Treat and bless children’s and young people’s groups with the same responsibility and resources as adult Life Groups.
  • Visible Church rather than Hidden church

    We aim to:

  • Be a church well known and respected within Wokingham for our passion for Christ; the way we love one another and for our good works in the community.
  • Going out rather than staying in.

    We aim to:

  • Be people who go out and meet people where they already are, as individuals, as Life Groups and as a church, rather than putting all our efforts into events which invite people in.
  • Make the events we do organise as a church part of a cycle of relationship, respect, relevance and response building events to remove barriers to faith.
  • Look for God-given opportunities to make contact with people groups within Wokingham not reached by other gospel churches, e.g. ethnic minorities, the underprivileged and migrant workers.
  • On the Move rather than Settled

    We aim to:

  • be a church ready to move and locate ourselves wherever there are the best opportunities to reach others with the good news of Jesus Christ.
  • be a church which multiplies so that more can be reached in Wokingham and the surrounding area.
  • Properly resource our church leaders so that they can concentrate on keeping the church moving rather than settling for a weekly routine.

  • Connected Church rather than Isolated Church

    We aim to:

  • be a church that actively recognises we are part of the world wide body of Christ.
