Small Groups
Breakfasts, Groups & Prayer Triplets |
We see small groups as vital meetings where we can get to know each other more deeply and be encouraged in our faith. Sunday mornings are often busy and conversations are snatched because, thankfully, we have many children in the church and many church members are parents. So small groups provide time when we can think more about what we have learnt on Sunday. We can also share the struggles and challenges we face in our Christian lives more honestly and openly in small groups. Then we can pray for each other about these things. Commitment is expected as we know that we are more blessed as we give to each other. We seek to show practical concern via babysitting, cooking meals when needed, and sharing our possessions and skills. Hospitality for one another in our small groups enables us to be a hospitable church.
Home groups
We meet in each others homes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings for bible study linked to Sunday’s sermon, prayer and practical support. They are lead by church members. Do contact john@abch,org if you wish to be invited to join one.
Men’s breakfast
We meet each Friday from 6.30-7.30 to apply the bible to our lives, share concerns, pray for each other and talk about how we can support each other as men in the life of the church. We meet at the ministers house.
Women’s groups
Womens groups meet in the daytime on Tuesday mornings, Tuesday afternoons and Friday Mornings for bible study, prayer and practical support.
Prayer triplets
These are encouraged at various times throughout the year but organised informally. Three people meet to be accountable to each other in the Christian life, to read the bible and pray together. For many these are some of the closest and most honest Christian relationships they have.
