Holiday Bible Club - 28th July - 1st August

HBC Bookings: bookings are coming in, but we still have lots of spaces available. We are 'staffed' to take at least 200 in the 5-14 age groups. Please take flyers and bookings forms and encourage your friends and neighbours to book in as soon as possible.

Recruitment … …
We still need a number of people to join the team. In particular we need people to work with small groups of children in the mornings.

If you are available for any part of the week - Monday through Friday, 28th July to 1st August - please contact Theresa Swan to discuss possibilities.

Recycling!
Please could you collect empty cereal boxes, old/odd socks and kitchen roll tubes to use at holiday bible club.
Jacki Brown will collect them from a box at the back of the churches from next week

Prayer Meeting Wednesday 9th July (Arborfield congregation)
Please make this a priority in your diaries. We will again be offering supper to those who would like, from 7.45 - 8.15 pm. Please sign up on the list at the back of Arborfield church if you would like to be catered for.

If family or work commitments mean you are unable to be present for the meal, then please come along at 8.15 pm when the prayer meeting will begin.

Butterfly Walk - Sunday 6th July
A leisurely walk of 2 miles or so in beautiful Pamber Forest near Silchester with the likelihood of seeing some of Britain's rarest and most spectacular butterflies, dragonflies, birds, flowers and a wealth of other wildlife. Suitable for all the family, although there may be a couple of muddy patches after rain so please wear suitable footwear. Bring a packed lunch which we'll enjoy in a clearing in the forest. Meet at 11am after church, by the lych gate at the entrance to Arborfield church, after which we'll make the 20 minute journey to Silchester - lifts will be available if necessary, returning home mid-afternoon. For further information phone Alan Broodbank on (0118) 9666678.

Girls only!
All you girls from 0 - 100 yrs of age are warmly invited to my house for a simple lunch on Monday, 14th July from 1.45 pm. Please be aware that I have an 18 month old little dog called "Jack" who will play with your toys if you bring them, will run off with your shoes should you take them off, or he may even remove your socks!
I thought this time I would ask everyone to make a donation of £1.50 which will go into the Barkham Church restoration fund. If you would like to come along would you please contact me by 12 July. Helen Marley

Summer Sunday Club's @ Barkham and Arborfield
We would really like to continue to run activities for the children during the Summer holidays and also give the Sunday Club teachers a holiday! We are looking for volunteers to help out with some activities for the children during the school summer holidays. No experience required but you will need to be CRB checked - if required materials will be provided - all you need to bring is your enthusiasm!

We need volunteers for 10th/17th/24th and 31st August

If you can help or want to have a chat about what might be involved please contact Gavin or Jacki Brown (0118 969816) for the Barkham congregation….. and please sign up on the sheet at the back of church if you are a member of the Arborfield congregation.
