'To know Christ and to make Him known'

Passion for Life - A week of opportunities to hear more about the Christian faith - 14 to 21 March. Remember there is no morning service in Barkham Church on 14th.

Welcome from the Barkham Morning Congregation

We are a group of people of all ages who want to know Jesus Christ better and to tell others about Him.

We are united by faith in Jesus Christ, and believe that His death and resurrection has made it possible for people like us to be forgiven by God for turning away from Him. Because of this, we can be brought back into a right relationship with Him, and know the certain hope of eternal life.

We believe that God speaks to us today through His Word, the Bible, and helps us to understand it as He works in us by His Holy Spirit. Everything we do is aimed at helping each other to learn more about who God is and what He has done through Jesus Christ. Ultimately, we help each other to live lives that give Him the honour that He deserves.

Maybe you would not yet describe yourself as a Christian, but are interested in finding out more about what Christians believe. Please come and join us and meet others who are looking into these things too – you will be very welcome.

We hope that you will find a home with us here.

Sunday Morning at 10am

Remember: there will ne no morning service at Barkham on 14th March.

This is our main weekly meeting when we gather to encourage one another by hearing from God's word, singing His praises and bringing our needs to Him in prayer. Our meeting usually lasts about an hour or so, after which refreshments are served. On the second Sunday of the month we share bread and wine as we celebrate the Lord's Supper together. Our meetings are open to anyone of any age. We run a staffed creche and a full programme for 3-14 year-olds during the service.

Recordings of recent sermons are available online here.

In addition to our Sunday meetings, various groups meet during the week:

Housegroups

We encourage everyone who makes Barkham their church to join a housegroup. These are small groups of people who meet each Wednesday in somebody's home, and are a great way to grow together as followers of the Lord Jesus.

Details of our current housegroup programme.

Prayer Meetings

We meet monthly to thank God for his goodness and to pray for the church locally, nationally and internationally. This is also a time when we share future ideas and plans together.

Prayer meetings will be held on 13th January, 10th February, 10th March and 14th April 2010. .

Women's Bible Study Groups

These are daytime groups which offer the chance for women to meet together for fellowship as we study God's word and pray for one another.

For Youth

For those in years 7-9, "Friday Club" meets on Friday evenings during term time for fun, games and a short time of bible teaching.

For years 10-13, "Cave" meets on Sunday afternoons during term time for fun, games and more in-depth bible teaching, plus regular social events.

Christianity Explored

This is an informal mid-week course which gives the opportunity to look closely at the claims of Jesus Christ. We welcome those of some faith, or none, or those who are unsure. The format is relaxed and informative and there is plenty of time to ask questions.

If you are interested in attending, or would like more information, please email the church office.
